I've had the same video card for like 7 years but I just bought wolfenstein 2 and it requires vulkan which is only supported on gtx 600 series and higher so I got a 970 on ebay for $150 and since it's 3 years old I expect it'll last me another 3 or 4 years
rip venerable gtx 570 you were able to play brand new games on perfectly reasonable settings way longer than I expected

i dont even think it matters if you get it from an engineer or person at the hq vs some dweeb who works at the apple store. i think the family/friends discount is the same. worth trying to find someone who works there.

You need to know the differences between quality and quantity
My rig will use:
High performance with higher bandwidth speed for faster computing experience for gaming, video & image editing, rendering, and data processing.
It's 8 GB it doesn't mean I need a lot of softwares are open and running. Im a developer and I focus on atom text editor and a browser, then I model and render something with Cinema4D... nothing else.
Your rig:
Basic performance for tedious multitasking but not enough for high performance
Also it's wrong to upgrade ram to use google chrome.

My gaming rig is still running a phenom 2 x6 and everything works just peachy, I don't understand why people buy i7's for gaming machines it's a waste of money an i5 or even the right i3 would be just as good

Because of marketing, Intel tried to jew the gamers if they want complete 60 fps for all games, obviously it was a myth because it doesnt notice a lot because the games are focused on graphic rendering which is used by graphic card, CPU only calls GPU to render something.
Also a good cpu can execute the game very faster but it's not part of requirement since cpu is required to calculate or to simulate the process.
We ve seen the games are running with old cpu like celeron or qualcomm and good gpu card, it works fine after all.

Steffies claimed he knows better than us and he called us the dumb. Obviously, he’s wrong because he purchased i7 CPU and $ 1000 videocard to execute the maximum 60 fps and he doesnt know what’s the difference between a $5,000,000.00 missile against a $ 500 chinese drone, then a $500 russian anti-air missile against a $680,000,000.00 Airbus plane

stevey could have gotten the same exact results for half the money, his mental issue is such that he needs to feel like he's "the best" even if it means overspending and pretending that's the same as accomplishing something. he knows your machine can outperform his and you've taken away the only thing he had to feel good about.

decided as long as I was tinkering with this machine I'd get rid of my WD fucking green drive to fix the disk IO issues. I have 2 1tb drives, a barracuda and a wd blue, that I plan to use as a stripe set. for some reason my ACPI mode was set to IDE, I can change it to AHCI with registry changes but it 7b bluescreens if I change to RAID mode and software raid would be a waste of time. So I downloaded the windows 10 upgrade advisor (still free to upgrade if you lie about being handicapped) let it download and after the first reboot jumped in BIOS and changed it to RAID mode. After install it boots and runs just fine, no problems with active directory, it's even activated even though my copy of 7 was using an activation hack. next step is disable all the windows 10 bullshit then build my RAID and clone my volumes over to it.
