since it's been a year since it started and I can't get my alienware to stop bluescreening for no reason I asked teknorat to build a computer for me, but since he suffers from australianism I need some second opinions, I have already conferred with computer geniuses m0nde and stevey and they told me to go for it, but before I buy this I need to know it will only give me 9999 new computer problems instead of 99999999 new computer problems, also please keep in mind you shouldnt bother to try and troll me into wasting money, since I have literally already done that to myself with my alienware

what I am gonna do is literally just use it for gaming, I'm gonna put it on my desk next to my alienware I'll keep trying to fix and keep using for everything else, but this new computer I will literally only install games, steam and fraps on and nothing else to limit the chances of it going wrong and I will keep it off when I'm not gaming so it doesnt overheat and melt like whatever goes wrong with my alienware thats on 24/7

also I nicknamed my alienware kristanna after the t-x from terminator 3 since the logo and blue inner glow reminded me of her, what should I nickname this computer? female names preferred since I am a pathetic virgin, and no I wont call it lisa, because it will be good, hopefully

Intel spend millions designing this chip to run at a specific speed, all their stability testing is based around 3.5Ghz. It will *probably* erun faster, but you might hit on some defect that will make it crash since it was never tested at 4.5Ghz. It's also designed to reach a certain temperature at the native clock speed, if it runs faster it's going to get hotter and heat destroys components. The people building the machine probably put in a bigger fan/heatsink to compensate, but how long until it's crudded up and you're having issues?

Also honestly you're never even going to notice the difference, actual speed is about more than clock speed these days (the number of Ghz) so why bother risking it

a lot of times there's a dynamic overclock setting which cranks up the speed when it thinks you need it

no but the different model of cpu might have more cache, more extensions, stuff that actually matters. Like I said before clock speed isn't a good indicator of performance anymore it hasn't been for years
