question. To be honest with you, the life I live now started only a few minutes
away, we are really close to this place to be exact. That place is
"Iroquois Middle School."It didn't start until the 7th grade. I would always
come to school, wanting the day to end as soon as I touched the front door.
Feeling the hatred in that door handle, I proceeded to walk to my locker and
on my way to class. Seeing just up ahead, the people I really didn't like,
I would either walk facing the floor or staring in

question. To be honest with you, the life I live now started only a few minutes
away, we are really close to this place to be exact. That place is
"Iroquois Middle School."It didn't start until the 7th grade. I would always
come to school, wanting the day to end as soon as I touched the front door.
Feeling the hatred in that door handle, I proceeded to walk to my locker and
on my way to class. Seeing just up ahead, the people I really didn't like,
I would either walk facing the floor or staring in another direction so eye contact
wouldn't start another session of degradation. I was always assaulted verbally,
never physically. It sucked so much, that I actually would make up an excuse
just to go home. If you were to go into the school and look at the first stair-case
to the second floor, you would notice that the railing is gone. I was shoved
violently hard while going up the steps into the railing, causing it to break, almost
impaling me in the chest.

I look back on those horrible memories. I laugh as I write this, furiously jotting
down what no one cares about, but me. It didn't happen to you, so why worry?
I look back on these memories and wish I could have one final confrontation
with the people who changed me. I wouldn't threaten their lives, I would tell them
how wonderful I turned out. Tell them that "The final joke" broke my shell,
started a new me. One that isn't armed with a projectile, gun or deadly
item of my choice,but a weapon of words! Just once, I would give anything
to throw back a joke at the uglier, the even bigger than me. I have seen
a few of those kids at this school (Iroquois High School) and I gotta say
"Goddamn, looks like someone broke the ugly stick over your hideous ass."

Another thing that kept me from having a nervous breakdown through out the
7th and 8th grade was my mom, and I cannot thank her enough for being a
parent willing to fight back against these kids and their parents. She did
everything she could to make sure that these kids were off my back, or for
the time that it worked. I remember one of my good friends during the
8th grade. He was one of those kids who didn't care about what people
thought about him, and I idolized that.

I would always ask myself, "How does he do it?" "How does
he not take it and then just ball up the anger and suppress it?"
He was always shrugging things off. You could have been in his face,
calling him the most offensive racist name, he would have just thrown
a joke back, and everyone would laugh with him.

Hard to believe, but I was never the cleverly witty person you see stand
before you. I was just the daily laugh at everyones expense. Even today
I am, but I call the shots about it. Being called fat doesn't bother me
anymore. Even I joke on myself constantly just to make someone else
feel better. One thing I hate about being fat is that people assume that
it affects my ability to function in the real world, making it hard for me
to cope with life. I say the things that fat people shouldn't say like
"Do you think this dress would look good on me?" Or "Would a
lap dance make you feel better?" I say things that if you actually
saw before your very eyes, you would look away in disgust.

Being treated like I was before taught me a lesson and brought
forth a vow I would always keep. Never reenact what happened
to you, Logan. Be the one to counterattack it before it's too late.
If someone I knew went on a killing spree, I will know that I was
the only one who couldn't be blamed for it in any fashion.
Also, it brought on something I hold too close to me and it
just kills my friends to hear me say "I would swap the worst
position of danger with you in a heartbeat." One of my
friends could be a hostage with a gun to their head, I
would tell the enemy, "Take me instead, I would block any
bullet that comes your way, let me be the life that would
be taken, if someone has to die." I would do this,
and never expect anything back. Not even a thank you
is needed.

I really want you to know, this is a writing piece I am turning into school. Its about an event that changed my life. This is how I became The John Logan Arn, you all know and love without hating me unless you hate me because of my coolness.

Close friends, if you can read all of it without feeling sorry for me, I applaud you. Do not feel sorry for me in anyway. I mean everything in this piece. I will give my teacher a "censored version" of it.

At least he has a wrinkled, dangling thing between his legs. Now, let's analyze that awful picture of you that we've all seen.

You are fucking hideous. Your teeth are jacked up, your hair is thinning(assuming it's not a wig), not to mention your tit job looks like it was done with a broken beer bottle. Your eyebrows are way too thick, your cheek bones are too low, your lips are bulbous and infected looking, not to mention those big, fucked up gorilla arms you have. I know that hormone treatment takes a while to kick start, so I'm sure you still have stocky man hips that rub together, warming up that cottage cheese-esque cellulite that bakes in those nasty spandex you sport.

Now, let's talk about that hubby of yours. He's just as fucked up, if not even more fucked up for finding a positive in your flaws. There's no way this guy can sleep at night, knowing a backyard genitalia slasher job creeps into his bed every night. What's more pathetic is, he's been on the love scene for way too long, had his midlife crisis too early, and decided to settle down with a wretched gender-bender like you. Have either of you even had sex? It must get boring, staring at the back of a brown paper bag while he corn-holes you whenever you're not constipated, sitting at home all day, eating in front of the television, waiting to spend what little money this fucker makes at his minimum wage job.

Chapter 1

"How did everything go so wrong?" Our soon to be narrator says ever so calm-like.
"It's so hard to think; the sound of 'them' outside, pounding on the steel door. I try my hardest to outrun them, only to be sealed away from the world in a fucking bank vault. It's such a pity, too. I'm surrounded by millions, and the only thing I'll ever get to do with it is to die next to copies of dead presidents."
"Alright, just breathe. Let's see… How did this whole thing end up where it was now? I'm on borrowed time, short supply of oxygen, and for some reason, the only way to think properly is to at least talk under my breath."
The sound of fists pounding angrily makes their way through 6 inches of steel. The echoes sound like a pair of sneakers or a load of laundry when clothes become unbalanced in a dryer.
"How can I even hear that? It's so fucking loud!"
He tries to refocus his thoughts back to the situation at hand.
"Okay, I remember back before it started, normal day, everything was fine. People were always killing each other in the news. It was pretty much a guarantee that a death was reported on TV."
He combs over little details here and there, hoping something will start to stir.
"FUCK! I can't think of anything!"
He stands up and paces the floor in a meticulous manner, as if driven to comply with his OCD.
The steel door continues to rumble and ring throughout his ears. Suddenly, he remembers something. He makes a face as if others were in the room with him, and they'd catch it and ask what it was he realized.
"I was on the highway, an-and people just started getting out of their cars. Not everyone, but mo-mostly everyone! YES! I remember everyone just standing there, like drones, hundreds of them on a stretch of high risen curve of the highway. Then all of a sudden, they look up into the sky."
The image of them all leaving their cars reminded him of watching his ant-farm as a kid, the way they filed in unison in the same direction, like they had some kind of hardwired purpose.
"I remember little kids not following, but crying, covering their ears, like they all had headaches and ear problems. I used to get that a few years back, when I was a teenager." Odd memories and 'something-not-so-quite-right' feelings caused his stomach to flutter when an obscure image of the old military base he used to ride past in his younger years, ears would ring after getting half a mile away from it.
"I recall, remembering some kind of different sounds in each ear, and my brain felt like it was vibrating, like I could hear some kind of humming inside my head."
He quickly shuts out the image of the children being heartlessly left behind. The visual image of it isn't so bad, but when your mind wonders, you find a way to make it bother you.
