Hey guys, I just purchased this game for $2. Yeah, I know what you're thinking: "This guy saw I Get This Call Every Day featured on the Yogscast (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=movSIYkJaKU) and he is going to get absolutely zero hipster provenance equity from me." Yep, it's true. I'm not going to try to hide it, because I find lots of cool stuff from the larger, mainstream voices in the community. After all, if I hadn't had seen the trailer for The Hills Have Eyes 2 (2007), I might have never have been introduced to Devendra Banhart (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZPrT2IkZ3g)! Just because everyone had the chance to enjoy something, doesn't mean everyone got to; well, unless you're drunkpuppies and you're just carpet posting from /r/spacedicks and /r/wtf. I really want to share this with you guys.
So anyway, yes, I did purchase the game and I thought I'd talk a little about some of the things I like about IGTCED. In the game you work as a Canadian call center rep(pretty much m0ndie) who has to take the same painfully repetitive phone call inquiries every day from very inconsiderate and illogical people. Your goal is to get through the dialog without getting fired. I really like the art style, the pace of the game, and the insight the game provides into working/interacting with people in general. It might be fair to call it no more than an art game, but I really like what the game accomplishes in its very relatable narrative. It's funny, depressing, frustrating, and very human. It's menschliches... allzumenschliches. A lot of games are about escaping from reality, this game might change how you feel about your own. In a way it game has more realism than any AAA game title. The game also comes with a really mellow song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZfDBxwPwjs) that plays over the credits roll.
So I hope you guys check this game out, maybe watch a few Let's Plays on YouTube, and decide to support the indie developer by giving it a buy. Thanks.
