i need some opinions on them..
i heard theyre reliable in all aspects and good on fuel but the only downside is that their vehicle parts are a lot more expensive compared to other popular brands in Aus..
anyone know if these cars give you no hassles?

maybe they will read this thread.
not likely, you need to send pm to them if you really need a help

they are good and have diesel options for better mileage
lnopia the great
11-16-2012, 07:45 PM
the parts shouldnt be expensive unless they are rare in aus
Just so happens I own a Golf, it's tiny and gets good mileage but inside I've somehow got more leg room than I did in my SUV
The turbo diesel gets something like 40mpg but they're super expensive around here so I bought the regular gas 2.0

Yeah im looking at a 2 liter 2 door convertible golf i really dig how small it is i hate driving long vehicles... ive read only good things about its fuel consumption and reliability .... but people say the main reason not to get one would be because of the repair costs if you somehow manage to damage its parts or get into an accident and its your fault...
You already got a help from maks, lock this thread now

yeah i just stunt my car right at their necks
last year i researched 2011 models and test-drove the TDI and i have nothing negative to say about them
there don't seem to be any drawbacks other than that if you buy a new one now, you join a group of truly insufferable, bald assholes
there is some question as to whether the fuel injection system in the TDI is worth the price tag
because it was only recently put into production in the latest models, there is no good historical data to prove its reliability
people are concerned about its ability to last over the years 50% because it is a product of innovation and 50% because the fundamentals behind its operation are a throwback to a time when the fuel quality afforded it
basically it is a high-rpm, high-pressure system which depends almost entirely on the fuel itself as a lubricant
this was never a problem before the EPA was instituted to ruin vehicles, fuels, etc.; today's fuels can be very questionable
european one i think:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Volkswagen_Group_diesel_engines#2.0_R4_16v_TDI_PD_103-125kW
parts code prefix: 038
Pumpe Düse (PD) direct injection (DI): engine-driven vane-type low-pressure fuel lift pump, four camshaft-actuated (via roller rocker arms) high-pressure 2,200–2,400 bars (31,910–34,810 psi) Unit Injectors with piezo valve injection nozzles (Siemens VDO on 103 kW, Bosch on 125 kW), Bosch EDC 16 or EDC 17 or Siemens VDO SIMOS PPD1 electronic engine control unit (ECU) with altitude compensation, EU4 compliant
125 kilowatts (170 PS; 168 bhp) @ 4,200 rpm; 350 newton metres (258 lbf·ft) @ 1,800-2,500 rpm — BMN, BMR, BRD...
american and therefore probably the australian one as well:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Volkswagen_Group_diesel_engines#2.0_R4_16v_TDI_CR_81-132kW
parts code prefix: 03L, ID codes: CAGA, CAGC, CAHA, CBAA, CBAB, CFFB, CBBB, CBDB, CBDC, CEGA, CFCA, CJAA
low-pressure fuel tank mounted fuel lift pump with underfloor electric fuel relay pump, timing belt-driven high-pressure injection pump delivering up to 1,850-bar (26,830 psi) pressure for the common rail (CR) fuel rail, direct injection (DI) with eight-nozzle output piezo fuel injectors; Bosch EDC 17 electronic engine control unit (ECU)
105 kilowatts (143 PS; 141 bhp) @ 4,200 rpm; 320 newton metres (236 lbf·ft) @ 1,750-2,500 rpm — Audi B8 A4, Audi Q5, SEAT Exeo (CAGA: 12/08->)

there was one up for $8000 with only 78000 km on the odometer, lady driver... immaculate condition inside and out.. it sounds good on paper but you get there and the lady is no where to be found and apparently digital odometers can be changed by paying some smuck 200 bucks and he will replace the chip...
now you come in here and tell me that shits gay? you nailed the last coffin bro

yea i only hear good things about jap cars

it's a stereotype and if you never heard of it before it probably doesn't even exist in australia so just buy the car you like. the golf convertible looks more like a saab than a cabriolet anyway
yea i only hear good things about jap cars
if you're over 6 feet tall don't buy a honda or a toyota
if this had been a convertible they would have had to identify me by my fingerprints
http://comeontothelord.com/img/20070106-sentra-accident-002.jpg
nissan maximas are all good cars, even used ones from the mid-80s are still serviceable

living with a convertible is indeed different
when i'm the first person off the line at any intersection i always crawl forward until i'm sure nobody is going to run the red

probably also helps if you don't get drunk with a friend who thinks that just because he's really good at need 4 speed he can do 70 on twisty backroads in a 4 cylinder grocery getter. my neck is still all fucked up from that crash.
