the 48 bit binary address will be converted into a 64 bit hexadecimal address, thats when you have to learn how to spoof mac addresses.

or just pick your own ipv6 address, that works too and it's a shitload easier. why do you always come up with such a convoluted way to do things?

and how exactly do you choose a static ip in ipv6
timmy

other than private addresses who and where does it say you can get a public address that is not based off of your mac address

dumbass

the idea that static ips would be based on your mac address is retarded. you'd have to change all your dns record every time you swapped out a network card or router. also windows by default requests a masked ipv6 address you have to hack the registry to even get the functionality you're talking about. also who the fuck connects their computer directly to the internet anyway? also who gives a fuck who knows your mac address?

so you are showing me how you can set static private addresses.
your datalink device's mac address will be your wan address, you will be identifiable through that.
so you are showing me how you can set static private addresses.
I'm showing you that you can set static ipv6 addresses, period, including a public ipv6 address if I was stupid enough to connect a windows 7 machine directly to the internet
your datalink device's mac address will be your wan address, you will be identifiable through that.
then buy a static ip, who cares. what are you concerned about, that people will be able to figure out what brand of router you use? they can already do that you know.

okay clear the air for me then instead of calling me a retard.
can IPv6 have DHCP? if so is it your ISP using NAT to give you different IP addresses?
if you're sending all your source addresses with your MAC address converted into hexadecimal doesnt that mean its like a fingerprint? becuase a physical address is burned into NICs and cannot be changed?
if the latter is true does that not mean IPv6 is going to contribute to monitoring and policing the WWW?

Yes, there is a dhcp for ipv6.
I dont know if tou will be natted at the isp lwvel. Probably not,it would defeat the purpose oof ipv6 which is to make more addresses available ao iap dont have to nat.
You wont be any easier to monitor than you are right now. Your isp is already keeping records of who had what ip addreess and when.
Oh and a mac address is hardly a fingerprint because as you pointed out yourself mac spoofing exists.

why the fuck wouldn't ipv6 have dhcp?

why the fuck wouldn't ipv6 have dhcp?
i read on a tech forum that ipv6 will only have your mac address as your host address, it would be cut in half and have 16 bits in the middle that and "ff:fe" and that there was no choice in ipv6 address other than what your mac address translates into hexadecimal...
i havnt done any class work on ipv6 so i was mistaken to take other peoples words for it having a terrible cookie like feature
Ipv6 isnt going to fundamentally change anything barry
