*pitch black warehouse filled to the max capacity with pitch black negro bodies, everyone is pulsing with the tribal rythims of the drum machine. the vibrations resonate through each body cavity whom chants along with the spinning wax disks, "let there be house!" the decibel level climbs towards 110, then 120. the sound and the strong scent of sweat pour out the first floor Windows, red and blue flashing lights circle the surrounding blocks but dare not pass down the cross street flooded with afrikantismal pride. the strobes flash brighter, the color bars spin faster, the blacklights illuminate the whites in every bug eyed matte black skull. the concentration of afro happening is so much, plates and dishes in cabnets throughout the neighborhood jitter with every bass tone, just as everything seems to have cemented into an singular black fog of sensory overload- scratchhhhhhhh the delicate needle is bounced across the record and starts cutting into the track listing sticker adorned "fingers Inc." quickly thedj with 3 massive dreadlocks mutes the master channel but he does not panic because he knows he is spinning for his peaople, people of the heartbeat, people of the jungle rythem. had it had been last week when he was mixing for a mixed race crowd he would have been strung up or at least given a hue of purple to his all ready black eyes in the ally as he left the club. but this was not then, he hadn't had a second thought about it because as soon as the mixer was muted, the energy was maintained by the steady clapping of his audience- "clap clap clap clap" a bar went by and he began diggin through his crate, two more bars and the record was on the platter, one more bar and the record had been cued, and suddenly on the downbeat "boom clack boom clack" the next track was perfectly beatmatched to the rythem of the African hands which immediately flew into the air, the mirror ball reflected a quickly changing laser pattern and the subhuman state of affairs drove the animals to swing from the rafters and ducts fogging entire abandoned building with a century of collected dust. the night was starting off on the right paw*
