game recordings are always huge, sometimes processing makes them even bigger lol

click the movies tab on fraps window and make sure its locked at 30 fps full size makes it extra smooth

I'm already using half-size and I think I might have locked it to 15fps or something, I specifically wanted the video to be small. do you recommend fraps or a different recorder?

I prefer fraps, its what most youtubers use anyways. some people will seperate sound into audacity for editing purposes. i really shouldn't give you advice though, you are a lot more versed on pc stuff than i am...

also if you are really getting into the gaming thing i think a lot of people are using twitch.tv which also has a recording feature, then you can rip videos to youtube.

I'm not really looking to make a lot of videos, I was showing my friend some saints row 4 clips on youtube last night and one guy just stood there and got shot so I made a demonstration of how to use all your superpowers and fight the police forever and win, etc etc. I can't imagine doing this all the time, I either have to wait an hour and a half for mplayer to shrink the video or spend an hour and a half uploading it to youtube, all for something less than 5 minutes long

it gets faster the more you do it. some big lets players do up to 1000 videos a year. if only i could play games 9 hours a day :hmm:

you don't think a gig a minute is big for a 3 minute avi? a 190 minute blue ray rip is only 8 or 9 gig
