being fat in a wealthy country is a negative trait while being fat in a poor country is a positive trait

No it wasn't $13.47 in 2006 either you moron and you have no reference for that, not that you can give one because that simply isn't true.
Once again. Having lived here and and worked here for 18 years I would know.
People who need to make up shit to argue are stupid.

08-07-2012okay you fucking retard let me bust out some math
http://www.asu.asn.au/campaigns/livingwage.html
average working hours is 40 for a full time worker here can we agree on that? okay
2012 = 606.4
2011 = 606.4 - 17.1
2010 = 589.3 - 19.4
2009 = 569.9 - 26
2008 = 543.9 - 0
2007 = 543.9 - 21.66
2006 = 522.24 - 10.26
511.98/40 = 12.7995 <- do the math you stupid faggot i would pretty close, you old shit.
2005 = 511.98 - 27.40
2004 = 484.58 - 17.0
2003 = 467.58 - 19.0
448.58/40 = 11.2145 <- go re read my posts above and realize you are a stupid fucking faggot and you should stfu*call centre crew*

having a ridiculously high minimum wage for unskilled laborers only serves to help drive away those jobs to other countries
obviously in the service industry this isnt a big deal, but the increased cost would be passed onto consumers (as it is in Australia where everything is more expensive)
the minimum wage here is low but the average wage is much higher in proportion to the minimum wage. the US minimum wage is not meant to be something you can live comfortably on, it's meant for people who are just starting out in the work force
even today you can go out and get a manufacturing job or w/e with no or little experience and fast track yourself to making 15-20-30 dollars an hour within a few years, so let's not pretend that the minimum wage is like the "standard" that people live off of in the US, it isn't
however, it is very low and I would favor raising it to 10 or 11 dollars because it's not even keeping up with inflation anymoreLast edited by Camoron; 08-08-2012 at 12:09 AM.
